Balvenie’s DoubleWood

Most of the distilleries fall in the speyside region and three largest selling single malt whisky brands: Glenfiddich, Glenlivet and Macallan. These excellent whiskies deserve to be testing at least once in a life time if not consumed regularly– Balvenie’s DoubleWood is gaining attraction

Owned by the William Grant & Sons family that also produces Glenfiddich, it receives a second maturation in sherry casks, giving it a rich intensity that leads it to be referred to as an after dinner whisky. We think the aroma is just like a posh Chelsea bun – fresh, sweet, bready and studded with sultanas. It’s sweet and spicy, rich and fruity, and comes with a hint of oak on the finish that helps contribute to satisfying, lingering boozy warmth.
